Supporting Men’s Health: TreMac Proudly Backs Movember
At TreMac, we’re proud to stand behind the Movember Foundation and the incredible work it does to improve men’s health.
Each November, Movember inspires millions of people around the world to take action for men’s wellbeing — raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health.
What started right here in Melbourne in 2003 has grown into a global movement, encouraging conversations, funding research, and supporting initiatives that help men live longer, healthier lives. Movember’s bold goal is to reduce premature male deaths by 25% by 2030, and every moustache grown, kilometre walked, and dollar raised brings us closer to that vision.
How Movember Works
Movember officially kicks off on November 1st, when participants begin the month clean-shaven and commit to growing a moustache — affectionately called a “Mo”. This visible symbol sparks conversations about men’s health, helping break down the stigma that too often surrounds it.
But Movember isn’t just about facial hair. There are many ways to get involved:
- Move for Movember: Walk or run 60 kilometres during the month to honour the 60 men lost to suicide every hour around the world. It’s a powerful reminder of why mental health matters.
- Host a Mo-ment: Bring people together with an event — a trivia night, a bake sale, a fun run, or even a Mo-themed bake-off. Every gathering helps raise both funds and awareness.
- Create your own challenge: From endurance feats to creative projects, Movember encourages you to make it personal and meaningful.
Every effort counts, and together, these collective actions help fund groundbreaking research, improve health services, and encourage men everywhere to take charge of their wellbeing.
Why Movember Matters
Every year, over 1.4 million men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, and suicide continues to be a leading cause of death among men worldwide. These are more than just statistics — they represent fathers, brothers, friends, and colleagues.
Movember is tackling these issues head-on through research, education, and community programs. The movement is built on the belief that talking saves lives, and that by supporting one another, we can change the face of men’s health for good.
At TreMac, we’re inspired by the courage, community spirit, and compassion that Movember represents. We’re proud to do our part in supporting this important cause — because every Mo matters.
